Iso Test Image

The most essential part of photography is exposure. Without it you couldn’t have amazing shots with detail like objects being frozen in time or blurred. There are 3 major exposure elements, Shutter Speed, ISO, and Aperture. All are vital for the photography process and help us take even the most simple photos.

Iso measures the sensitivity of the image sensor, how it works is when you lower the number of iso, the less sensitive your camera will be to light and the finer the grain will be. Shutter Speed is how fast your shutter closes, the slower your shutter speed is, the more frozen an object will be, the faster it is, the more blurred the object will be. Aperture is a hole or opening that lets light through, the more closed it is, the clearer the background, the more open it is, the more blurred the background is.

Without even one of these, we could have the masterful shots we have today. Iso helps us brighten our darkest pictures, shutter speed stops us or helps us go fast, and aperture reminds us to focus. I’m glad we have the 3 principles of exposure to help us get those pictures that inspire and drive us.
